Lance grew up in Dows, Iowa. While in high school, he worked summers in the field for King Construction. After high school, Lance attended Waldorf College where he earned his A.A. in liberal arts. He then transferred to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to pursue his football dreams and study Physical Education and Coaching. Lance had a change of heart, came home, and worked highway construction for a few years before going back to school to get a degree in Civil and Construction Engineering Technology.
In 1996, Lance and his brother, Lincoln, had the opportunity to come back to where they grew up and buy King Construction & Overhead Door. Over the years they have been fortunate to add three additional offices. “What I enjoy the most about King’s is how diversified we are in the different types of work that we offer and have a great group of people that help make King’s what it is today”.
Lance is the driving force behind the daily operations of the general construction side of the business, and he brings a wealth of experience to each of the four locations’ general managers. Whether it’s coordinating teams, solving on-site challenges, or keeping everything on track, Lance brings both expertise and precision to each project.
Lance and his wife, Darla, have one daughter who is pursuing her education at Iowa State University. Lance likes to travel and attend Minnesota Viking and Iowa State football games. When you can’t find him in the office, he’s usually doing projects on his acreage or enjoying the sunshine at their vacation home in Florida.
