About Our

Safety Pledge

At King Construction, safety isn’t just a priority: it’s built-in to every site, every day. We  foster a culture where the Safety Code isn’t just a rule book but a way of life. It’s how we protect each other and the clients we serve.

King Construction teams stay on top of the latest education and training, including best safety practices. Through the years, we’ve noticed that a deep-rooted Safety Culture keeps every worker going home at the end of the day—and that’s the most important part.

To firmly guide that safety culture, we established monthly safety meetings, comprehensive training programs, and proactive recognition initiatives to ensure every team member is well-equipped and keeps safety on the top of their mind. We utilize third-party safety audits and maintain a dedicated Safety Committee comprised of both management and employee representatives.

Our pledge is clear: At King Construction, safety is non-negotiable.

Neil Telander

Project Manager

Neil Telander diligently works as King Construction Project Manager and he walked an interesting road to get there.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, Neil received his Associate’s degree in Graphic Arts. After a 1-year printing course, he began working with marketing signage in Iowa. He then moved to technical business form and document design and specialized in crafting security features on checks for international financial firms.

He married his high school sweetheart, Tina, in 1998. The built their first house in 2000, and that project sparked another business avenue for Neil. He began framing residential homes and started his own framing business in 2004. Endlessly determined, Neil dove into electrical work and attended classes while working full-time at an electric company and building houses for his business, Telander Homes. In 2018, he decided to fully devote himself to being an electrician.

In the summer of 2022, a chance meeting changed the trajectory of Neil’s life again. While moving their son into college, they got to talking to another couple doing the same. After discussing past careers and becoming fast friends, Neil was offered a job that would use his management and organizational skills to the extreme: as a commercial contracting project manager.
