Josh grew up in Washburn, IA, and received his education at the University of Northern Iowa. He has an Associate’s degree in Architecture and Construction Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. He combines his education with experience as King Construction’s Project Coordinator and Manager.
After college, Josh worked in Iowa City, drafting blueprints for high-end custom homes. He then jumped into commercial construction and began work as an all-around carpenter. He continued to advance and moved into a project manager and draftsman role specializing in metal buildings, metal wall panels, and standing-seam metal roofs. At this point in his career, he joined the team at King Construction.
Josh says he enjoys working at King Construction because everyone is down to earth and enjoyable to be around. He says his role keeps him interested and engaged because, “I get the chance to wear multiple hats. I can go from being Operations Manager to Project Manager to Estimator and even go into the field and get back to my roots and work as a carpenter if needed.”
Josh enjoys being with his family when not at work, and has a wife and three children. He also enjoys quite a few hobbies and can also be found hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, shooting guns, and barbequing.
